I believe public scholarship is an important extension of academic work. Media offers a valuable means of bridging academia and popular discourse, creating opportunities for research to inform how complex social, legal, and political issues are understood beyond the university.
My work in popular media includes interviews, documentaries, and research consultation with journalists, filmmakers, and producers. Through these collaborations, I seek to contribute scholarly insight to public conversations and make academic research more accessible to broader audiences.
This forthcoming documentary examines the epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women, bringing attention to a crisis that has long remained underrecognized in mainstream public discourse.
I served as a consultant to the director and was interviewed for the film. My work on the project included providing historical, legal, and policy context for the issues it explores.
